The Personal Computer (PC) as ICT     Until the nineties, it was still possible to distinguish between instructional media and the educational communication media.     Instructional media consist of audio-visual aids that served to enhanced and enrich the teaching-learning process. Examples are the blackboard, photo, film and video.           On the other hand, educational communication media comprise the media of communication to audiences including learners using the print, film, radio, and television or satellite means of communication. For example, the distance learning was implemented using correspondence, radio, television, or the computer satellite system.           Close to the turn of the 21st century, however, such a distinction merged owing to the advent of the microprocessor, also known as the personal computer (PC). This is due to the fact th...
Higher Thinking Skills through IT-Based Projects In this lesson, we shall discuss four types of IT-based projects which can effectively be used in order to engage students in activities of a higher plane of thinking. To be noted id the fact that these projects differ in the specific process and skills employed, also in the ultimate activity or platform used to communicate completed products to others.             It is to be understood that these projects do not address all of the thinking skills shown previously in the Thinking Skills Framework. But these projects represent constructivist project.              Key Elements of a constructivist approach: a)        The teacher creating the learning environment. b)        The teacher giving students the tool c)     ...
The Evolution of Technology in the Classroom Technology has always been at the forefront of human education. From the days of carving figures on rock walls to today, when most students are equipped with several portable technological devices at any given time, technology continues to push educational capabilities to new levels. In looking at where educational methods and tools have come from to where they are going in the future, technology’s importance in the classroom is evident now more than ever. A History of Classroom Technology The Primitive Classroom In the Colonial years, wooden paddles with printed lessons, called Horn-Books, were used to assist students in learning verses. Over 200 years later, in 1870, technology advanced to include the Magic Lantern, a primitive version of a slide projector that projected images printed on glass plates. By the time World War I ended, around 8,000 lantern slides were circulating through the Chicago public school syste...

Future Shock by Alvin Toffler

All these waves develops own "super-ideology” with which explain the reality. This ideology affects all the spheres which make up a civilization phase: technology, social patterns, information patterns and "power" patterns. My perception in social media specifically facebook is really good and rampant nowadays. We born in 21st century are fun using it. We can also communicate people and other family members that are far away. But we people abused using this technology, we are using this in scamming innocent people we use these in wrong way. We tend to post pictures that are sensitive to others. So as a concern citizen we think first before we click in order to avoid problems with each individuals, be wise enough in using it.
